Dr. Fuertes-Ramirez completed her undergraduate studies at Bryn Mawr College where she earned her B.A. in Mathematics. She attended medical school at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines and completed her internship and psychiatry residency at the Virginia Tech-Carilion School of Medicine program. Due to her interest in childhood development and mood disorders, she decided to pursue further training and completed a child psychiatry fellowship at the University of Maryland, where she served as chief fellow at Sheppard Pratt in her final year. She is recognized by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) as a board-certified adult and child psychiatrist.
